Bar Lumiere is a love letter to everyone in New York and Brooklyn that is listening. And to one beautiful soul 4,000 miles on the other coast. Our goal is for our patrons to experience new and inventive cusine and wines, cocktails that are perfect, with attentive and professional staff. Still it doesnt feel like a fancy night out- or even a bar.

It took us a while, to put together the team we wanted, that would deliver the food we wanted, In the end, we are honored to be led by Chef Steven Hubbell, winner of Michelin stars and Bib Gormands, and other awards. We are a chef led hospitality business.

We actually started our journey all the way back in last October, but didn’t take possession of the business we took over until December. In almost 9 months, we changed concepts twice to finally feel like it “fits”.

Part art project, part statement, with a goal of changing peoples perception of value in going out. We put all of our money into the best people, searching long and hard and training them well. We expect excellence in food, beverage and service.

Who is behind this thing? Come on by and one of us might be in. We are creatives, mostly. Fine Artists, Art Dealers, Designers, Architects, Musicians. One of us was fortunate enough to be a part of a couple award winning places on the West Coast, so we sort of know what we are doing.
